SYNOPSIS: Loosely adapted from a play of the same name, The Book of Living & Dying centers on Martina, an Italian transgender and former cabaret performer dying of stomach cancer. In her deteriorating drug-induced state, she begins to see and hear things that aren't there. She is forced to confront her fear of death. Her only consolation is in the knowledge that she will be remembered. The pressure is on Eve, her daughter, to plan an epic funeral in the likes of Martina's old cabaret shows at the infamous Studio 54 in her hay day.
